Port Harl (WIP)

Port Harl was build on the side of the “Mountain”, which is only a 400 meter steep hill. Along the coast is a 30 meter tall wall that separates the city from the water needing repairs every year by the expert masons.

Tidal Crashes

The river “Harelv” has a resonant frequency with the tidal cycles making the tides a massive 12 meters tall during high tide and reverses six hours later. The troubling waters keep most ships from attempting to siege the place as the city can keep supplies coming via the water. As such the city is build in an oxbow lake that connects back with the Meander cutoff during high tide, resulting in the bay having less violent tides. Sailors of these ships are well versed in sailing on chaotic seas, using the tides as a test to their skill and for those who fail, won’t hear the end of the tale.
