Large greywood trees stand tall near the village of Deryl. These very large trees were once a lot more common, but after the Terror of the North set up its lair on the eastern region of Kâldlân, the trees have dwindled in numbers. The people of Deryl cut off only the branches of the colossal trees to make their ships or watersleds as most consider the trees sacred.

The sailors of Deryl aren't traders like most in Domus, but instead are hunters and farmers. Along the coast of Deryl are lots of berry bushes and foraging spots, just enough to satiate and store for the winter. The berries and fungi are stored in large vats to become sweet liquor used in hunting expeditions or to last through the winters cold.

Watersleds

The watersleds are a catamaran made from two pine logs and greywood base, it can hold up to 12 people at a time and can gain speeds up to 22 knots. These speeds are impressive and very important for the main use of these watersled, which is hunting orcas. During a windy day at sea, the crew will locate an orca pack and target one of the slower creatures. Accidents occur frequently, but the pay-off of the large creatures' fat and meat is immeasurable for the cold village.

Proud and passionate

The people of Deryl are very proud people, ascribing their fine food as the highest standard that The High North has to offer. Their idea of connecting the north back into unity is mainly because of selfish reasons, as they wish to show the rest of the north how much better they are. They will question anyone that speaks as grand as they do, only changing their stance on the subject after a show of skill. This arrogance is a key trait of most inhabitants of Deryl. Any passion will be considered a positive trait. As residents of Deryl see it, most Lærer Kønigr tend to be extremely passionate, and thus any passion should be encouraged. This has resulted in the population of Deryl to be extremely skillful in many different field.
