The Holy Sons of Karishnar, or simply, Karishnar refers to the combined Orcish families living in the Hakwsmoor Glades. The Karishnar Orcs migrated to the Glades in flight from their oppressors, powerful slavers that have been scrubbed from Orcish history. There they found a new life in an untamed land which they were well suited to subjugate.

Under the boot of their captors, "the Evil Ones", the Karishnar were magically imbued with blood of fire and utilized as a warrior race. They were weaponized beings of war "across many worlds" as their own stories report. This was until the titular Karish, mother of all Orcs, led a rebellion to escape their previous home. She perished earning her people's right to freedom and is memorialized in the name of the Karishnar people but also in the massive tree which the first Karishnar planted atop her ceremonial grave--An'hadar.

The Karishnar are unique members of the Alliance in that they have no monarch, rather the elders of the various families elect for themselves a Speaker who serves until their death. They represent the elders to the outside world, but they explicitly remain equals to their fellow elders. The elders congregate at the First Roots, a meeting hall at the foot of An'hadar, annually to vote on matters which explicitly effect all Karishnar--otherwise elders have near limitless freedom to govern their own families.

It should be noted that the Alliance of Kings was founded by the Kingdom of Everlasting Snow and Atraxia in 742BC, hundreds before the Karishnar arrived on Initia. Thus the seemingly incorrect name. Karishnar was invited by Atraxia in 32BC in growing fear of the Dominion's strength. Perhaps this change is one of the reasons that "the Alliance" became title de facto.
