A harbor town located at the edge of the Vidarian Khanate. It is nicknamed by the nomads as the gateway to the worlds, referring to the sea it touches and the continent beyond it.
In Mongolian, "Chonyn Buult" translates to "Wolf's Landing."
Description
Life in Chonyn Buult is hardy but not without peril. Just beyond the far side of the Shodoi Peninsula, the dark waters are said to be the hunting grounds of a great Kraken, a monstrous beast known to swallow ships whole. Yet the people of the settlement live in uneasy peace with the creature, for legend tells that Vizier Vargr, together with the honored warrior known as Goldfish, forged a strange pact with the beast in the early days of the town. Since then, the Kraken has largely left the harbor and its ships untouched, so long as the ancient terms of that agreement are respected.
The town occupies a modest but strategic harbor between the outer waters and the inland steppe.
Though fishermen and wandering clans lived along this shore long before imperial banners reached the region, the settlement took its name when Vizier Vargr made landfall here during his northern voyage. His ships anchored along the quiet inlet, and the event became known among the people as the moment the “Wolf” first stepped upon the coast. In honor of this arrival, the village became Chonyn Buult — the Landing of the Wolf.
From its wooden docks, narrow longships and coastal traders sail between nearby islands and the distant waters that stretch toward the ominous domain known as the Choir of the End Times. Still, danger looms across the northern ocean. Beyond the cold waves lies the shadowed territory of the Choir of the End Times, where the treasonous Ulfric Bey is said to have taken up residence in his grim palace. From that distant shore come rumors of dark rites, war bands, and ships that sail beneath black banners. Thus Chonyn Buult stands not only as a frontier port of the Khanate, but as a vigilant watchpoint at the edge of troubled waters—where wolves roam the grasslands, ancient beasts stir beneath the sea, and the enemies of the Khanate gather beyond the horizon.
Chonyn Buult is an important port town for the khanate, Situated along the northern coast of the Shodoi territory, Chonyn Buult stands where the cold sea meets the grassy frontier near the Shodoi Peninsula. Marked on the Khanate’s maps as one of the northernmost settlements of the Vidarian Khanate,
