After ambushing a number of Hrassk guards, The Green Dragon Brotherhood prepares to enter the mysterious tower in the Suurat Jungle. A lone Serpentman stands watch at the top of the stairs, and Skarrow, as a snake, lures him outside where he is quickly dispatched by the rest of the crew.

Once inside, they discover a large ceremonial room one flight down. Smoking brass braziers burn, while a number of Harassk and Suurloc tend to their duties. The floor in the center of the room is taken up by a large inlaid mural of sorts.

A human-looking woman is clearly in charge, but most importantly - Sooney-Crow of No Family is here, though tied up and helpless in a corner (“…no one puts Sooney in a corner…”).

They hatch a quick assault plan. Skarrow and Greer the Betrayer will pick guards off from a distance while William Dune and Shiv Drinkstep charge hard for Sooney. Cleansing Waters will bat cleanup. They say a prayer to Graxus, which must reach the god’s ears, because by golly, the plan actually works!

With the element of surprise, the sharpshooters…shoot. Sharply. Shiv’s first blow cuts a guard’s head clean off, and Dune releases the eldritch energy he stole from the Medusa and turns 3 of his 4 targets to stone, including the leader!

While the others keep the Serpentfolk engaged, Shiv rides his momentum all the way to Sooney, where he frees her from her bonds and tosses her her signature halberd! She’s back in the fight. The Brotherhood punches well above their weight, with Cleansing Waters absolutely wrecking shop, redirecting attacks and disarming snake folk. William Dune takes a real beating, but gives as good as he gets with a fireball and a well-timed…tactical retreat, where he picks off guards from a distance.

Skarrow falls, though he fights mightily, and is revived once the dust settles. At the end of the day, Sooney is reunited with the Brotherhood! She reveals that she was taken by a mighty green dragon as bait, and her theory is that the beast takes issue with the whole “Green Dragon Brotherhood” myth. We know it’s all fake, but everyone else thinks they killed a dragon! 1

After a short rest that doesn’t help much, they turn their attention to the strange tile inlay on the floor, and Sooney recalls myths of the mighty Suun warriors, whose blood rituals are known to scholars. Skarrow’s blood dripped onto the stylized, inlaid chalice causes the mysterious door to open…

TOTAL ELAPSED TIME: 45 MINUTES, TOPS

1 The GM feels badly that the reveal was somewhat clumsy, but in his defense , you turned the woman who was going to feed you the info to stone in the first round!
