Leaving Millhaven, The Green Dragon Brotherhood decided to follow the strange map pulled from the corpse of the creature that fell from the sky north towards the Argos Plateau. Cleansing Waters took the horse that had been used by Bess Ashglade, and the party left at dawn.

Only to find themselves hopelessly lost and trapped in a box canyon.

While finding their way out, Greer the Betrayer finally confessed why the Shenzu Raiders have such a vendetta. He slept with Eldric the Bald's wife - while dating his sister! The sister killed the wife and Greer fled with a bag of gems and a spellbook that he burned. He caught on with the Blackbrand Mercenary Company (where he meet Sooney-Crow of No Family , Thud Strongbrew , Titus Flint and Selm), but the Raiders chased him down and when the dust settled, the Blackbrand mercenaries were no more and only our heroes(?) survived.

The Brotherhood got back on track and made good time despite chilly, blustery weather. They headed generally north, keeping the Spine of Ulgoth to the east.

Shiv Drinkstep still cursed to extinguish flames when he’s near, has to sleep far away from the campfire and the rest of the party. One night, he was awakened by a foul ochre jelly attempting to devour his face, but he rallied and with a single blow from The Blade of Graxus , the schmoo-like abomination was destroyed. The party discovered the body of a less fortunate traveller - killed and half-digested by the jelly. Cleansing Waters found a knife made from a Bulette tooth.

Despite Sooney’s tremendous wayfinding, the rest of the journey was no less eventful. The party was chased by an eruption of giant scorpions and blundered into the middle of a Cyclopean hunting party. Fifteen enormous brutes attacked, despite Greer’s attempt to distract them with his entire bundle of rations. Again, the party’s luck held and they were able to flee on horseback.

As they travelled, Sooney regaled them with the history of the area, learned from the proud tradition of songs sung by the nomadic tribes of horsemen who used to live here. A five song cycle tells the tale of five star-crossed love affairs that brought the entire culture down. Their descendants remain, but there are still areas on the Argos Plateau where horses will not go.

That night, Sooney stood watch and found herself trying to remember all five songs. Sadly, this distraction allowed four sabertooth tigers to sneak up on the party and attack. The Brotherhood took some serious damage but was able to rally - Cleansing Waters put on a display of martial prowess, defeating two of the beasts with his bare hands - ripping out the throat of the last tiger to fall.

The party took a day to dress, skin and cook the beasts, replenishing their rations and crafting tiger cloaks for warmth and intimidation. Surely this will endear them to the local tribes as they get closer to their mysterious destination…
