Players read The Secret Message which contained a magic incantation that summoned an Invisible Stalker. Greer was mauled and taken to the void - he now has a minor madness.
They have figured out it was an assassination attempt.
Hele Tanner has stolen Serpent Girdle from Greer the Betrayer . She fled on a stolen horse. The party was beginning to follow her when approached by Bess Ashglade, a 14 year old sorceress attracted by the magic on display from the booby-trapped message.
Bess explained she is a member of “an order devoted to the destruction of Melek.” The party had a great idea to take her to the lab where they met Shiv Drinkstep , as that place had powerful magic amplification tools.
They agreed to meet the next day at the stables, where they were to purchase horses and tack. However, Bess came late, pursued by members of Ordo Malefactos. The party quickly dispatched them but had to flee Littleton again!
Bess made the party divert slightly to leave a message for the rest of her Order in a weird magical grove. That night, Shiv Drinkstep saw a flash of light fall from the sky.
Upon further investigation, they found a Mysterious Crater with a blue-veined glowing crystal and footsteps leading away. Bess and Sooney were able to carve a chunk from it.
Whose footsteps? Are they human? And what of the glowing crystal?
