The Bone Khans, a name given to the culturally similar but disconnected tribes of nomads who wander the Southern Reaches. A strong oral tradition states that once their people were raiders who trimmed the fat from the extremities of the larger empires and kingdoms formed of the bones of the precursor nations. Legend tells that as the shattering powers splintered and fell, the Bone Khans took more and more of their people in, dividing and subdividing into more tribes. With this increase in labour the need for violence to secure their existence diminished.

Now, the Bone Khans travel in caravans, only staying in one place for as long as a season before moving on. They forage and hunt for food, while engaging with other communities to trade handicrafts and animal products. The reason for the name is unknown, but nowadays the name comes from the frequent use of bones as decoration, along with the warrior class' tradition of fashioning helmets from their favourite kills and no longer showing their face. Often times these hunters will take on a new name relating to the hunt or the animal itself, intending to manifest either the skills displayed or the animal's traits.

Most adventurers who hail from Bone Khan clans are Beast and Totem Barbarians, Bonebinder Rangers or Warlocks.
