Folks who choose to try their hand at adventuring among the eerie monoliths of the Stonegrave consider the name “Stoneblood” a badge of honour, considering it proof they are better than most, having dodged the deadly pockets that have taken the lives of others, some even returning with unusual trinkets and baubles they can use or trade away. Stonebloods are often seen carrying a bandolier of Stingers, a local alternative to healing potions that is said to be more effective at staving off the effects of the Wasting.
The use of Stingers are what lead to the name Stoneblood, in fact, as they seem to be the only thing capable of staving off the Wasting. Outsiders jokingly say the grey, unchanging rock that gives the Stonegraves their name has bonded with their blood, making them just as impervious to time. A peculiar anomaly can be found in some of the bodies of fallen Stonebloods, their lifeblood shifting toward a purple hue and thickening, some bodies are found with clusters of fluid-filled sacks.
Arguably the most well known Stoneblood is the figure of Bellamy, the Bloodied, who was one of the first to try the Stingers when they were first brought to the surface. Often sporting a bandolier of the things, she has been vocal about their adoption into widespread Expedition use. Widely respected by the other Stonebloods, she has a permanent residence in the Underside.
Stonebloods easily come from all walks of life, though more commonly attract those who can match the demanding physicality of delving, such as Barbarians, Fighters, Rangers and Rogues
