In the time before time, the world was born in the Void.

This story tells the tale of how the world was created, and how the Gods were born. It has been passed down from generation to generation, so that all who care of such things know it by heart.

At the beginning of time, before all known creation, there was only darkness and void. Within this void resided a single entity, known to us as Erevar, creator of the Gods, and the great mind. It was said that when Erevar awoke, stars spiraled into being, and the laws of reality revealed itself to him in a thought. These thoughts manifested as great spirits, which would one day come to be known as the Elemental Gods.

Erevar then gave himself shape, a physical form not unlike the stars that formed around him. He then sought to explore his power, and so he began to create the Aeva - his children.

Firstborn of the Aeva was Ardon, who was given Erevar's vision, his strength, and was built in his image.

Second was Zaros, who was given Erevar's darkness, his potential, and the powers to wield it.

Then were born 9 more who were yet to be fully realized.

In the infinite void, there they 12 sat in darkness- until Erevar revealed unto his children a vision.

Within this vision was a world, beautiful and alive, with oceans of water and peaks of stone, realized, yet incomplete. Yet to be molded, yet to be shaped.

The vision encompassed them, so that they may walk the world. The Aeva descended upon the world, taking in its substance. They fell in love with the world, and over an unimaginable amount of time, were shaped by it, by this vision. All of them, except Zaros.

Zaros found no comfort in this reality. Where the other Aeva saw beauty and found love, he felt no such thing. He felt disgust, and saw a conquerable thing. A place to be bent to his will. He felt a desire to be free. In time, his desires and inner darkness grew to be immeasurable.

The Aeva formed themselves around their new world, with each embodying an aspect of it.

Ardon found divine beauty in what lay in the higher celestial realm of the world. He took to the skies, and the wind, and took the light of the gentle stars unto himself. He claimed the Sun and the heavens, and made its power his domain. In doing so, he aligned himself with the celestial king of the heavens, the Sun, and appointed himself as such.

Zaros retreated to the underground, and claimed the powers of darkness and the underearth. In the deepest depths of the world, he found dark waters and an empty solace among ancient stone. There, he formed the Abyss, and began using it and his influence to twist and conquer the world. He embodied hatred, corruption, and discord, and sought to harry and disrupt his divine siblings.

Shaeva found comfort in the sea, and arcane might in the silver moon that settled in the sky. She developed a love for wisdom, cultivated a keen mind, and collected the arcane secrets of the world. She claimed the lower celestial realm of the world, and began to embody all things reflective, passive, transient, and arcane, such as silver, water, spirits, magic, and moonlight.

Alaban found himself drawn to the fringes of the heavens, far away from his kin. He shaped himself around the distant stars that reminded him of his celestial father, Erevar. He observed the powers of the stars, and found that the world was under constant threat of being influenced by them. He came to embody the stars themselves. Knowledge of the stars, drawing upon their power, and resisting their influence, thus became his domain.

Grant was drawn to the mountaintops and cold heights of the world. He found great strength and resilience within himself, and within the stones of the mountain. In time, he learned to draw from the stone of this world, and an ambition to create drove him. He embodied the art of craftsmanship, of perseverance, and of the material blessings of nature.

Erevar then ceased the vision, and all that remained was he and his children.

Then, in a flash, He began to mold the material world into reality, in a display of spiraling stardust, blinding light, and infinite darkness. For eternity, the Aeva watched, until his Work was complete.

At the end of his Work, He brought the Aeva to a single world, seemingly insignificant in the great spiral of stars, and addressed his children:

"Behold, your home. Go forth, and create it in my vision, by your hands."

The Aeva would descend upon the world, shrouded in myst, all of them primed by His vision.

And thus began the creation of Thurn, the birth of the Gods, and the beginning of all strife to come.

It is said that one day, the Gods will leave the world upon the Final Day, when their work is done, and return to Erevar once more.
