Giants are large humanoid like creatures that are massive in size. Their stonelike flesh is hard and stiff. They range from being a few feet taller than an average man, to being many times their height. Giants cannot die of old age. They simply continue to mature and wizen. They are known to be incredibly steady of hand, and have made many of the world’s legendary creations though their skilled crafters. Giants were the first race to form civilizations in the earliest of days, and much of that history has been lost to all but the eldest of giants.
There are a few differing types of Giants. These types are usually named by where the Giants find their home natively, as Giants have a very strong connection to nature. Hill giants, mountain giants, forest giants, frost giants, and dark giants are a few examples. Unfortunately, time has not been kind to all Giants, and many giants have been persecuted, hunted, warred against, and abused by their mortal neighbors, who fear them. As a result, many have become reclusive, and slink back away from civilization, further diversifying themselves, some to the point of extinction. Despite this, giants remain, some in their ancient kingdoms, still watching over their fabled holds- and some, living simple, detached lives in camps, or lone homes. The Gol are descendants of the giants, inheriting some of their traits.
Despite some giants being highly intelligent, some are unfortunate enough to have been raised as beasts, and will act defensively if approached, and may even raid nearby mortal settlements for food and sport.
