Laedrin

Laedrin

“Leiminir” in Alder, “Moon-folk” to some.

The moon-touched Laedrin were, in the ancient days, elves, given new life by a goddess of the moon, their bodies, souls and spirits closer to the arcane powers granted by her. Laedrin societies tend to seclude themselves away from others, building villages, shrines or even cities in far off places, such as the chilled taiga wastes, or deep in moonlit valleys. These places are few in number, and most Laedrin have mixed into other societies, and are generally well accepted in cultures fond of the arcane magics. They are mystical, proud, and many still revere their mother moon with devotion. Despite this, all Laedrin are destined to live short lives. Their folk tales say that all Laedrin are destined for a grand deed; a feat of accomplishment only possible by their kind, given to them by their goddess. So they persist, preserving the knowledge and teachings of those before them, ever waiting for their goddess' call.

Laedrin are pale, tall and slender, with silvery and black features, with pointed ears and straight hair. Their skin ranges from moon-white to a silvery or steel tone, and their eyes, sharp and inquisitive looking, may be silver, blue, purple, or in rare cases, shades of midnight indigo and black. Their ears are long, sharp and pointed, more so than an elf, accentuating their overall lean build. With their above average height of 6 to 7 feet tall, they tower elegantly over many other races.
