Though diminutive in stature Floren, referred to in common as Halflings, share unmistakable ancestry with the Humans and other Kalmenids. While no agreed-upon date of divergence exists in the field books of [Assembly] scholars, consensus holds that the Floren emerged from a westward wave of migration tens of millennia ago, settling in the islands of the Sarnevalian archipelago between [Estera] and the continent of Nimoria.

While the Floren have largely remained among the islands of Sarnevalia, their diaspora is far reaching, with exclaves existing in nearly every major port that can be reached from the archipelago. They even have a presence in ports beyond where the Anden, who they are often grouped together with by others, have gone. They do often congregate with Dwarves given their shared home region, but their similarities in stature, seafaring and Sarnevalian origins are the end of any general comparison.
