The Sarnevalian Archipelago
The Sarnevalian Archipelago is the homeland of the Sarnevali, located in the Meridian Deep ocean at the meeting point of the Eastern and Western Seas. The island chain spans tropical and subtropical climates, shaped by monsoon cycles, tides, and long-standing religious associations with Saranaรซ.
Individual islands range from active port settlements to restricted or sacred sites. Some are known for trade and habitation, others for preserved groves, isolated atolls, elevated terrain, or locations traditionally used for divination and ritual practice.
Colony: Port Ramu
The Ramuans reside in Port Ramu, a sheltered harbor within Lodโono Cove on Nimoriaโs northeast coast. The harborโs protected waters support regular traffic, while access to the mainland enables sustained trade, particularly with allied states such as Shinryoku.
Port Ramu follows the same seasonal cycle as the Sarnevalian archipelago:
Tidebloom (Wet Season): periods of heavy rainfall and cyclonic weather
Whispwind (Dry Season): clearer conditions, steadier winds, and increased trade activity
Although rooted in Sarnevalian custom, Port Ramu has developed a distinct local character. Distance from the archipelago, environmental conditions, and prolonged contact with Nimoriaโs peoples have shaped practices that diverge from those of the homeland, favoring adaptation over strict preservation.
