This gaping abyss—teeming with alien creatures, lost technology, and secrets buried for ages—has become an ever-present lure to adventurers, scholars, and anyone seeking fortune.

The dungeon serves as the focal point of the setting of Secrets of the Sunhallow and the world of Edeni, shaping both the lives of those who seek the answers of its depths and those who profit from its bounty.

The City of Fortune's Rest

Surrounding the chasm is the lawless city of Fortune's Rest, a melting pot of all races and walks of life. It sprawls along the jagged edges of the chasm, bustling with activity and ambition.

Here, the artifact trade flourishes, driven by the "divers" who plunge into Sunhallow’s depths to scavenge for relics of the lost kingdom. It is a city where law holds no sway—where a single dive into the abyss can lead to untold riches or cost you everything.

Levels of Sunhallow

Level 1: The Rim

The Rim is the uppermost layer of Sunhallow, a rocky expanse of cliffs, winding tunnels, and cavernous drops.

Though dangerous, it is the most well-mapped and frequented layer, primarily used as an entry point for divers to descend. The terrain is treacherous, but it provides the most reliable route to lower levels, and even beginner divers can return with scraps and trinkets worth a small fortune.

Level 2: The Deepwood

Beneath the surface cliffs, the Deepwood is a sprawling, overgrown forest of alien flora, lush with greenery despite the darkness.

Giant, bioluminescent plants tower over smaller growth, casting a haunting glow across the forest floor. Many strange creatures dwell here, from predators that hunt the canopy to carnivorous vines that trap those unwary.

Many experienced divers brave the Deepwood for its valuable resources and hidden relics, but its winding paths make it easy to lose one’s way.

Level 3: The Oubliette

The Oubliette marks the edge of what has been discovered. An eerie, ancient ruin of labyrinthine tunnels and crumbling architecture, it is believed to be remnants of an ancient kingdom swallowed by the chasm long ago.

Strange technology and remnants of old magic pulse here, and Void creatures stalk the halls like wraiths. Many who venture into the Oubliette do not return, but those who survive bring back powerful artifacts—as well as stories of unfathomable wonders and horrors in equal measure.

Level 4+: ???

Despite many attempts, no one has successfully breached the fourth level of Sunhallow, and its depths remain shrouded in mystery.

There are whispers of what lies beneath—treasures beyond imagination, relics of the gods, and answers to the deepest secrets of the world—but until it is reached, it remains nothing but legend.
