🟧

Significant tension or distrust; no open warfare but history of conflict. Strained relationship and cooperation is rare or difficult.

Neutral or cautious relationship, some mutual respect but also wariness. Diplomacy and trade are possible but often come with conditions.

🟩

Friendly and cooperative relations, may have a history of peaceful interactions, mutual respect, or collaboration on endeavors.

HUMANOIDS

Tallfolk

🟧 Viewed as noisy and impulsive, humans are seen as easily manipulated and useful for labor.

Their short lifespans make them disposable, though their adaptability is grudgingly acknowledged as amusing.

Dwarves

🟧 There is significant animosity between all elves and dwarves, stemming from territorial conflicts with the sun elves that drove the dwarves underground… after which, the dwarves then found themselves clashing with the dark elves over territory and resources.

Dark elves view dwarves as brutish and stubborn, often difficult to force into slavery. Still, once subjugated, they are deemed suitable for heavy labor. The dark elves are not above using dwarven smiths to forge weapons for them.

Dark Elves

🟥 Dark elves harbor intense hatred towards sun elves, seeing them as the embodiment of everything that led to their own fall from grace.

They view sun elves as their mortal enemies, and conflict between the two is fierce and ongoing.

Gnomes

🟧 Skeptical of their erratic magic, dark elves find gnomes' unorthodox methods dangerous and undignified.

They are considered clever but scatterbrained, and their small size and volatile, eccentric natures make them unsuitable for slavery.

Halflings

🟧 Seen as insignificant and weak, halflings are easily-dominable but low-quality quarry for the dark elves.

Their agility is sometimes useful for scouting and spying, but they are generally viewed as expendable and lowly.

MONSTROUS

Oni (Tieflings)

🟧 Dark elves approach oni with caution, seeing them as both exotic prizes and potential dangers due to their Void connection. After all, if there’s one thing dark and sun elves agree on, it’s that the Void was a shared enemy their goddesses battled.

While their otherworldly traits make oni sought after as exotic trophies for some twisted dark elven houses, they are more often used as subjects for study, experimentation, and sacrifice.

Kobolds, Goblins, Tengu, Wildlings, Orcs, Changelings

🟧 All these races are looked down upon as subhuman and animalistic.

Dark Elves view them as useful slaves, each with their particular strengths, but ultimately inferior and only useful for labor or as expendable resources in their political and military machinations.
