Overview

There is a reason Silus Barton picked this pond above all others - a reason anchored firmly within his soul, for he finds nothing more thrilling and peaceful than the quiet hobby of angling. Here, that dream is realized.

Nestled on a small plateaued area amidst the hills of the Lasting Lands, surrounded by a sparse forest of pine and oak, is Echo Pond, a prime location for the avid survivalist who enjoys fishing as a pastime. Silus Barton owns the property, having bought it from a settler years ago who was looking to find a far more bustling change of scenery. It is his home and private place of refuge where he enjoys his favorite pastime, fishing, a hobby that even he admits is proving to be less fruitful as the days continue to pass...

The Flavor of the Area

The landscape around the pond is of a temperate nature, boasting a large amount of pine and oak trees, functional shrubbery, including the occasional invasive - yet helpful - species of plant that may have taken over any unclaimed area of land. It almost constantly smells of wildflowers and sulfur, caused by the pond's natural biological processes. During the day, crickets and vermin hum their songs of instinct, while during the night, fireflies dance in great number all around the homestead.

Hunting can prove to be bountiful, as Deer, Boar, and Bear flock to the area to claim the many berries and lesser fauna as sustenance for survival. The number of fish within the pond has dropped drastically, a sign that something is amiss...
