Ironwood

Crafting Material, Very Rare

"I've seen wooden shields made from this stuff that took the full might of a Red Dragon's fiery breath, with barely a scorch mark left behind. You can thank the druids for such a material, though if you're looking to get your hands on any of it, you'll need to pay heavily for its acquisition. How much platinum ya got?" - Master Artificer Kozic Kraghelm

Ironwood is a magically-imbued material that is wholly different from its natural counterpart, despite its somewhat mundane appearance. Slightly darker and more reddish than natural oak, Ironwood is not necessarily coveted for its physical traits, but rather its beneficial ones.

As it is notoriously rare and hard to work with, only a handful of specialized or licensed artisans are capable of fashioning it into whatever their needs require.

Properties

First Property: Impervious to natural or magical flame, Ironwood cannot be destroyed by conflagration. Spells that affect iron or steel do not affect Ironwood, and spells that affect wood can be used to manipulate it.

Second Property: Has the lightness of wood, with the hardness of cold iron.

Third Property: Can be fashioned into armor wearable by Druids, and any item made from it is considered to have a +1 enhancement bonus.
