Valhir, one of the primary Eldari languages, is a branch of the ancient language of Aelhir. It adopted, to a lesser extent, Aelhir's intricate grammar, melodic sounds and flowing rhythm.
It is strongly polysyllabic with an emphasis on vowels. While Valhir allows for consonant clusters, they are often broken up by vowels, which are often long and drawn out, creating a smooth and flowing sound.
Valhir makes use of a complex system of inflections to indicate tense, mood, and number.
A poetic meter lends itself well to rhyme and poetry and Valhir is frequently considered the language of bards.
