Vampyrs, Vampires or Vampyres- as they are known colloquially by most, are called Rendyr or Rendyre by the Elves and Nuar'layn in the Dark Below.

Vampyre is a gothic word, originating in human kingdoms of Niskerra.

The more ancient Rendyr, comes from the elvish words rendur, and faeyore- seemingly conjugated for ease.

Rendur - (rehn-doohr); To imbibe, to swallow or consume.

Faeyore - (Faye-ohr-ah); Blood. Literally spirit-fire.
