Blood found in the creatures of Nhera and other Realmstars is a carrier of aether. Mortal races have small traces of aether in their blood; Enough to borrow life for a few hundred years or more.

Blood varies greatly in colour among the peoples of Nhera- depending on the latent aether of their home and that which was imbued in their people during their conception or later influences.

The Elvish word for blood is Faeyore (feh-yoh-rah), or "spirit fire", exampling their understanding of its purpose.

Valari blood is the most aetherdense blood in the realm aside from that of certain Druhau communities settled near manarivers.

A Wellspring of Life.

The aether carried within blood fuels the life force of all creatures. This continual flow of aether is what allows elves, with their high aetheric content, to live for centuries – their bodies function as efficient aetherfonts, constantly replenishing their life force. In contrast, mortal races, with their lower aether content, eventually deplete their reserves, leading to aging and ultimately death.

Blood Magic.

The potent concentration of aether within blood makes it a powerful tool for skilled magic users. Some particularly dangerous and forbidden rituals involve manipulating blood to achieve powerful effects, such as Bloodweaving – drawing upon the life force contained within. These practices are often viewed with revulsion, as they tamper with the very essence of life itself.
