Wraithstone

"Seen what it does to those who don't respect it...not pretty. But with the right touch... right touch... Wraithstone makes the impossible... p-possible!" - Arcengineer Gryier

Deep within the Nheros realmstar, sunlight warps into Wraithstone. A result of the Worldbreak that dispersed aether throughout the Dark Below, rather than the Realmcore. Aether becomes trapped by shifting stone and darkness, becoming Wraithstone.

This crystallized aether, tainted by the crushing darkness of the underworld, holds immense power. It acts as a potent conductor for arc, the magical current that flows through the world, but with a dangerous edge.

Aether's Twisted Form.

Aether, the lifeblood of Nheros, originates from Asra, a vast well of energy at the heart of the Realm Matrix. Within Nheros, it flows as Starcurrents and grants life to all beings. Wraithstone, however, is aether twisted by the realmstar's depths, where celestial light bends into something darker.

A Tempting Power.

Arcanists utilize Wraithstone cautiously, amplifying their spells at the risk of corruption. The cunning K'kch, however, possess an unsettling ability to manipulate Wraithstone's dark nature. They incorporate it into their technology, often to their peril.

Understanding Duality: Scholars believe aether's essence is captured sunlight, explaining its connection to both life and destruction. Celestial aether fosters growth, while infernal aether brings decay. Mastering this duality is the key to harnessing Wraithstone's power, for good or ill.

The prevailing theory is that aether, when in stasis, becomes a destructive and unstable force- as a result of being forced into a state contrary to it's nature as energy for creation.
