Valurn is made up of vales. To the elves, a vale is a region with distinct characteristics-- usually defined by the landscape.

It could be considered an Elvish equivalent to human kingdoms, though on an often smaller scale.

And it happens that Valurn has extremely distinct regions of enchanted seasons. This is a result of the ordering of the realm- when ancient creation deities were structuring the natural world, using Valurn as their canvas to paint on. It is a land where the seasons themselves are eternal, each region a masterpiece painted by the gods, forever capturing the essence of nature's perpetual cycle.

Each vale is loosely governed by the court of an Elvenking and their Vale-lords.
