These dark elves come from the The Halt or the northern mountains, all away from civilisation. They live by the way of spirits and wild gods and are bound only by their own faiths. A solitary breed, they are what remains of dark elves on the surface during the dark days- their blood old and some lines tainted by orcish, or otherworldly, origins. They are talented stalkers and sorcerers and are thought to be some of the first elves to develop taboos like necromancy.

Life in the harsh cold keeps the Aurii close in communities that scarcely interact outside of themselves. Many settlements are made up of generations of the same families and one would find these individuals much more peaceful than their dreadful counterparts.

However, they are not known for being accommodating to strangers. Many consider their ire, when earned, to be more vicious than even that of the Drâihari.
