When the realmstar was to be ordered, the starwell was created to funnel aetheric energy, the very elemental and magical resource used by all life, into the world center from Asra.

This would serve the purpose of providing sub-creation deities such as the Eotenari with all they needed to help build and order the natural word as well as provide the elves with infinite life.

These days, the Starwell's light is dim, as the Aether needed by Nhera is not so great as when it was first created. It's main entry into the world is in the bay of Valurn, where its tendrils disperse throughout the Dark Below in rivers of light known as Ellyrael, or colloquially as leyrivers or manarivers.
