Ancient Matriarchy.

Upon separation from the surface world, Elven populations that fell into the Hraen found themselves in an environment almost alien at the time. With no contact to their surface kin and trapped in small communities, it was perhaps by chance that many of the disparate groups were led by female commanders and leaders. Their wisdom seemed to lead to higher group survival in the harsh environment.

Over time, this led to a largely matriarchal society of loosely connected city-states.

For ages, this served their people tremendously well and they thrived, with several cities such as Zhakar'thul'kesh, Asra'thal and Naern'dareth'ryn being established in the first age.

The individual culture of each city and it's community is distinct, with the extent of the matriarchy taking on varied prominence.

Na'rrazha'henna is the first city-state to have the Druhau's attempt at the equality found in their surface kin.

Glowing Riverbanks.
