Singular; Druhau. Plural; Druhau. Adj.; Druhauri.
“The surface may glitter with fleeting warmth, but true power lay here within the shadows we command.”
The mysterious elves lost to the abyss below Nhera during the dark days.
Deep within the labyrinthine caverns of the Dark Below, a realm sundered from surface Nhera by a gargantuan Manawurm, dwell the enigmatic Druhau. These elves, cloaked in mystery and hostility, are a stark contrast to their Valari kin who walk in the sunlit world above.
Lost in the Darkness.
The Druhau are the descendants of Valari who fell into the depths during the Sundering. Unlike the less numerous Morahau who found refuge in the Sythilia, the Druhau were scattered throughout the unforgiving darkness. They adapted to their harsh environment, their forms hardening and their complexions darkening to match the perpetual shadows that enveloped them. However, vestiges of their ancestral connection to the The Starwell still linger. Druhau yet possess the faint light aura, and their blood retains traces of its once brilliant silver or gold, a testament to the faint echoes of aetheric power that flow through the deep places.
They are a product of one of the most hostile environments of Nhera and are deeply cautious of creatures or people they don't know. Well-known to be one of the most hostile species, even among elves. Other peoples know them colloquially as under-elves or, more commonly, mistake them for dark elves if unfamiliar with their differences that, to other elves, are terribly obvious.
This is a great way to insult a Druhau.
As a result of their mystery and aggression, it's not uncommon for those that recognize them to be rightfully frightened. Where the Drâihari can often be reasoned with, Druhau are unlikely to stay their hand long enough to listen.
