Singular; Valar. Plural; Valarii. Adj.; Valari
“Hah!” He chortled. “Ye’d have better luck teachin' an Elf to bow.”
Valari are elves and share core traits with all elves.
Known colloquially as High Elves for their lofty personalities, stewardship and divine bearing. Residing on the island continent of Valurn, their people are master craftsmen and talented warsmiths by the time the world was still young. Their first kingdom was known as Elleyrion.
They are the first people of the Realmstar of Nhera and blessed with immortality and wisdom. They believe in their innate superiority and custodianship of their world-- A trait that has softened as the ages pass. The Valari possess an elegance not many creatures can emulate. Their culture places such high emphasis upon beauty and craftsmanship that elvencraft is often synonymous with the highest quality.
"Ages whisper their lessons. Though we are blessed, we are not infallible. Arrogance is a brittle armor; true strength lies in empathy and shared burdens." - Isilwen, Vale Lady of Spring
All Elvenkind on Nhera originate from Valurn, the first continent. Said to be the playground of old deities (Eotenari) when they planned the order of nature on the realmstar; lending the continent distinct, enchanted regions of spring, summer, autumn and winter known as The Vales.
Elves that have settled in the different vales have taken on cultures and physical characteristics particular to each region.
Baelmora elves are known to be fairly stern, proud and dignified. They are frequently the elves many other races think of when they consider high elves as a people. Their skin and hair is often very warm, golden and bright.
Anaerwood elves are perhaps the kindest of their kin. Their colours and clothes are fairly pale, but vibrant.
Fallharren elves are somewhat secretive and love to focus on their personal joys.
Avelorne elves are thoughtful, wise and masterful. They are often extremely pale.
Further from Valurn still are the Valari that settled in Netzekal. Their community is small and they have developed luxurious thick hair and dark skin over the centuries.
