Scramble

Overview

Something dangerous is about to happen and time slows to a halt. Be it a fight that breaks out, a trap that is sprung, or a bridge that gives out underfoot, these situations require immediate action in-Universe, but at the same time, planning from players.

In those cases, the Conductor calls for a Scramble. The Scramble situation is acted out in rounds. Each character gets 1 Major Action and 1 Minor Action to act. A round is over when all characters, both player characters and others, have acted out all those actions.

Players are allowed to strategize and their characters may act in any order they wish. However, as soon as a player says they act, they have to execute their Major and Minor Actions before any other player can act.

After player characters have acted out their actions, the Conductor can act a number of times equal to the number of players. For example: if there are 4 players, the Conductor may act for 4 non-player characters, or for 1 non-player character 4 times.
