Integrity
Doing the right thing when nobody is watching. We expect the very best out of our staff, and we expect our players to return the favor. This covers anything from exploiting admin powers to a player exploiting a bug or glitch.
Respect
It is critical in a community to have respect, not only for staff but also players, and vice versa. Listen and respect eachother both IG and OOG. You must also respect yourself, knowing your own boundaries and when a break from RP might be necessary.
Concept
Black Colossus aims to be a living, breathing world where adventure is always just around the bend. We are set in the legendary world of Conan the Barbarian in the years prior to his ascension. The Hyborian age knew many fabled heroes, villains, common folk and even beasts: their stories are yet unwritten. On Black Colossus you will experience different settings as we move through the seasons, our intention is to always place the setting somewhere in Hyboria, as opposed to the Exiled Lands. Throughout the season players will have the opportunity to participate in an overarching plot which will drive stories forward, encourage further RP, exploration and adventure, all the while ensuring that DM plots are not mandatory or invasive.
Black Colossus is dedicated to accurate Conan lore sourced primarily from Robert E Howard’s work, combined with references and information pulled from Modiphius and other appropriate lorebooks. Characters are expected to be fitting of their region in regards to appearance, culture and & religion in order to maintain overall Lore accuracy that fits in with the servers standard.
Black Colossus is primarily human oriented with certain aspects of low fantasy such as conniving sorcerers and terrifying supernatural creatures. These hold heavy weight in the balance of power and as such will be available in very limited slots. Sorcerers and supernaturals should always be met with fear and suspicion, given both their scarcity and power.
On Black Colossus there is a high possibility of topics such as rape, mutilation, character death, dire consequences and injuries. We are a strictly consent based server with anything sexual in nature. Some consequences in RP however, cannot be avoided, though any sensitive material can be requested to Fade to Black(FTB). This in mind; we are a strictly 18+ community.
Black Colossus features several new approaches to conflict and resolution. We believe our Frontier Zones, Death Strikes and ruleset surrounding such will set us apart from the crowd.
You may be faced with PvP at some point. Mechanical PvP is the default. However, we realize mechanical PvP is not every player's preference and have thusly included a dice combat system which can be used if both parties agree on it.
Our team is made up of Conan RP Veterans who endeavor to provide a professional, fair and ethical environment that emphasizes on storycrafting, plot and character development. Whilst our staff are dedicated to the server and it's players, we remind you that they are all volunteers and so to exercise patience if they are unable to attend your questions and queries straight away.
As a community dedicated to mutual respect, we encourage players to create stories together in a way that is enjoyable for all. We will be a blend-free community dedicated to collaborative writing and storytelling. As veteran players, we know that sometimes the Conan RP community can get quite toxic, and so we strive at all times to have a respectful, mature community that is capable of communicating effectively and reaching out when necessary.
We will also give strikes and bans to individuals that do not reflect our code of conduct, rules and server ethos.
