Bara Kohinten

Near the coast of XXX a fisherman's village was taken by a rogue wave and pulled into the sea. The survivors were unable to feed themselves after their crops were destroyed and boats ruined, the merfolk chose to help them by gifting them food like they have done before after apocalyptic events. However, the merfolk never left this area, they choose to take the now submerged village as their own and live in harmony with the villagers of XXX. The merfolk did add upon the previous design and made a maze from the disorientating design of the flooded village.

Tanktia Ragini

Build onto a pumice rock¹ that floats in the ocean, a small settlement of Blue-footed Aarakocra² has settled on the island. However this rock was already populated as the underside of the island is filled with merfolk in a town hanging from seaweeds of the rock. The inhabitants of the island haven’t found a way to truly cooperate together, but chosen to live in neutrality. The aarakocra have magic to influence the wind and are now trying to use the island as a mobile base, but the merfolk don’t enjoy travelling in ways that aren’t predestined by the water gods. This debate has already lasted an entire aarakocra generation with no headway, knowing their vanity, they shall start a battle against the merfolk not knowing the implications.

Pumicite¹

Pumicite or Pumice rocks are volcanic rocks that have many holes in them which contain large bubbles allowing it to float. Merfolk must maintain the bubbles so the island doesn’t sink.

Blue-footed Aarakocra²

Blue-footed Aarakocra are a marine bird, from the Sula faction. They are primal hunters with a travel lust for tropical islands. They hunt mostly flying fishes and sardines, which have consumed blue algae that colour their feet blue. An aarakocra that starts eating land food will soon lose their iconic blue feet.

Rotak Hinhia

The small atoll³ of Pourewa kiraro has only a thin strip of land 50 feet wide. Within is a sinkhole 500 feet deep, merfolk used these grounds to make their settlement as defensible as possible from the many threats that live around the coral reefs of this tropical sea. The recursive lake⁴ settlement of Roto Hiahia was the largest sponge farmers around the XXX Sea.
Around 21 years ago, the settlement was wiped off the face of the earth. The corpses were all gone with not a trace of blood to be found, even the Sahuagin helped in searching for survivors with no clue of the odd disappearance. Speculations believe that a Hydroloth⁵ attacked the settlement, but that would imply somebody contracted it to kill the merfolk.

Atoll³

An atoll is a ringed-shaped island within an ocean, atolls don’t fully enclose from the ocean.

hydroloth⁵

A hydroloth is a form of fiend called a yugoloth, they are mercenaries that will execute their contracts with precision, but their prices are grand. Hydroloths are fiends that are specialised to fight inside the water, however they mostly ambush ships and not settlements.
