Creating a character in Domos
Creating a character in Domos can be done in a few steps!
Before you create a character, please make sure you have the 'Adventurer' role. Without this role, you will not be able to play within Domos. Please check the #rules-and-info or approach a PG for more information.
We are in tier 3, which means that you may start at level 6 and the level cap is at level 9. You can use point-buy for stats.
When you choose your race, you can pick the usual racial bonuses or instead take a +1 and +2 In any stat, or 3 +1's in any stat (As described in Races).
Check the Foundry Tutorial and create your character on Foundry. If you need extra help with Foundry, use the #it-help channel.
Ping or send a private message to a DM and let them check the character you build on Foundry. If your character is approved, you can assign your class(es) in #role-manager, and introduce your character in #character-introduction.
If you want to trade items and money for other items before your first mission, you can use the #item-shop. How to do this is explained below.
Content allowed in Domos
All content we use within Domos is based on the content of the following books:
Player Handbook
Dungeon Master's Guide
Eberron: Rising from the last War
Elemental Evil Players Companion
Guildmaster's Guide to Ravnica
Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes
Mythic Oddyseys of Theros
Sword Coast Adventuring Guide
Tasha's Cauldron of Everything
Tortle Package
Van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft
Volo's Guide to Monsters
Xanathar's Guide to Everything
Fizban's Treasury of Dragons
Starting items and the Itemshop
The starting items a character has access to depend on the tier the campaign is currently in. These tiers can be found on the page starting equipment, the available items that are sold by the itemshop can be found in Itemshop Inventory.
Before a character has participated in their first session, they are allowed to use the #item-shop to exchange starting items and starting money for a fair rate. We use marketpoints (MP) in this itemshop. One MP is worth one gold piece. For example, a rapier is worth 25 GP and such is also worth 25 MP. MP can be exchanged for other items, but not for gold, this is to avoid someone from exchanging everything they have for gold. Trades will be judged by DM's and might be declined on basis of optimization.
XP & Leveling
After surviving an adventure, you will gain a reward: XP! This is your own responsibility, add this to your character sheet in the Domos Foundry. The DMs will keep track separately to make sure nobody is cheating. Your HP increases with the class average for every level up.
