Kiritani

The City of the Mists

Just south of the Chikyu Range, this city lives deep in the valley, and the heavy mist makes it impossible to see the city from afar. Only after reaching the city does the mist somewhat clear allowing the large city to be seen.

Kiritani, is the capital and the largest city of the Province of Yama. It lies at the foot of the Chikyu Range, a vast chain of mountains that dominates the northern landscape of Saevalux. The city is surrounded by a thick layer of mist that obscures its beauty from afar, but once inside, visitors are greeted by a sight of wonder and elegance.

The city is built along the banks of the Kiri River, which flows from the mountains and splits into two branches. The river provides water and power to the city, as well as a natural defense against invaders.

The city is divided into four districts: the Imperial District, where the Emperor and his court reside in the majestic Kiritani Palace; the Temple District, where various shrines and monasteries dedicated to different gods and spirits can be found; the Merchant District, where shops, markets, and inns cater to the needs and desires of locals and travelers alike; and the Common District, where most of the population lives in modest but cozy houses.

The city is renowned for its culture and history, as well as its natural beauty. The misty valley creates a serene and mystical atmosphere that inspires artists, poets, and philosophers. The city is also home to many festivals and celebrations throughout the year, such as the Cherry Blossom Festival in spring, the Lantern Festival in summer, the Harvest Festival in autumn, and the Snow Festival in winter. Kiritani is a city that honors its traditions and values its harmony with nature.
